1. Disable Proxies and VPNs

Some proxies and VPN services may interfere with your connection to the game servers. Disable any active VPN or proxy settings and try launching the game again.

2. Disable Windows Firewall and Run Steam as Administrator

  • Windows Firewall or third-party security software might block certain game services. Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software, then try running the game.

  • Right-click on the Steam shortcut and select Run as administrator to ensure Steam has the necessary permissions to launch the game properly.

3. Run the Anti-Cheat Installation File as Administrator

Some game issues may be caused by missing or corrupt anti-cheat software. Manually reinstall it by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the game's installation directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project Honor

  2. Locate the file: InstallAntiCheat.bat

  3. Right-click the file and select Run as administrator

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart your computer before launching the game again.

  5. If this doesn't work, try deleting the EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys file located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS\EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys

    • Then Restart Eldegarde as normal, it will regenerate this file

4. Ensure Required Network Ports Are Open

  • The game requires specific ports to be open on your router or firewall for a stable connection. Ensure the following ports are open:

    • TCP/UDP: 80, 443, 5064, 7770-7800

5. Verify Connection to Epic Games API

  • The game requires access to Epic Games' authentication servers. You must be able to reach:

    • Open a web browser and try visiting https://api.epicgames.dev to check if the server is reachable.

    • If the website does not load, check your internet connection or contact your ISP for further assistance.

6. Run /scannow to find Windows Errors

💡 What does this do?
It scans your computer for corrupted system files and fixes them automatically. If you're experiencing crashes, slow performance, or odd behavior, this is a good first step.

Step 1: Open Command Prompt as Administrator

  1. Click the Start button (bottom-left corner).

  2. Type cmd in the search bar.

  3. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

  4. Click Yes if a prompt appears.

Step 2: Run the Scan

  1. In the Command Prompt window, type:

sfc /scannow
  1. Press Enter.

Step 3: Wait for the Scan to Complete

  • This process may take 5-15 minutes.

  • Let it finish—don't close the window.

Step 4: Check the Results

Once the scan is done, you’ll see one of these messages:

"Windows did not find any integrity violations"
→ No issues found. Your system is fine.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them"
→ Some issues were found and fixed. Restart your computer.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
→ Some files couldn’t be fixed. You’ll need to try another method (like running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth).

Step 5: Restart Your Computer

  • Click Start > Power > Restart.

  • Check if your issue is resolved.

7. Run in Selective Startup

One other thing we recommend to try is a Selective Startup, as another application may be interfering with Easy Anti-Cheat.

  1. Press the Windows key

  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’

  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’

  4. Deselect ‘Load startup Items’

  5. Reboot your PC

  6. Launch Eldegarde as normal.

If the issue no longer persists after the Selective Startup, you will need to re-enable each of your background applications one-by-one, to determine which is interfering with Easy Anti-Cheat.
